    Freebies Ahoy!

    Posted on: Thursday, 20th of November 2008 | Comment?

    I've decided to put together a collection of some of my old pixel-art and clip-art for "free" use (linkware). Some of them go as far back as 2002 — And while I don't have much use for them now, I figured they may be useful to someone.

    The collection, known as Tinbox Graphics, will be separate from Un-Ordinary.net because I don't want UO.net to be considered a "free image source". (I think it's best if websites have only one or few purposes. UO.net is a personal/network site with a few goodies (not for editing!) thrown in. Though perhaps this is too many purposes. ^^; )

    Permission is required before using any of the images/icons to create custom graphics for requests or distribution for profit. (On the off-chance someone might want to do that.)

    Updates to this site will be occasional, because making images for "free use" isn't my top priority.

    Introducing Taru

    With the exception of Sophie, Bell and Vernon, let's imagine all my characters are gone. *poof* Okay.

    Now let me introduce you to Taru. She is a {insert race name here} about 5'7", light green eyes, creamy/peachy-blonde hair, which is the same colour as her skin. She wears a long sleeveless coat, t-shirt, shorts, boots, a jeweled headband and a communicator-watch.

    Taru is going to be a star in an upcoming computer game I want to put together next year. I'm going to keep her mission objective a secret... for now. ^^; Because I like secrets. But it will have something to do with our Earth (and other planets) being destroyed by pollution and other man-made problems.

    Here is a rough drawing I've been fiddling around with. (Yep there's a lot wrong with anatomy and such, I know.) I've already thought of some things I want to change, like, I might remove the backpack and figure out other ways of making her look less like an elven Lara Croft. Maybe I should make her more sciencey/gadgety. ^^;

    Although she has pointed ears, she isn't an elf or half-elf... But I guess no matter how many times I say that, people will still think she is one. So ok, she's an elf not in the "traditional" elf sense: She doesn't live in a forest, wear skimpy clothes, do magic or have any special abilities. The headband/tiara thing is a symbol of her rank.

    But why not a human then? Well because her race are less violent and more sympathetic towards animals and the environment. ^^; I haven't come up with a good reason why that is. Maybe they were the first race to destroy their own planet, and now they know better.

    So she has a gun? Yeah, it contains tranq-bullets like in MGS. ^^; I'm not sure what type of pistol it should be... I probably have to make one up.

    Comments/suggestions welcome. ^^;

    Drawing as Payment

    LOL

    Read this, it's funny: http://tinyurl.com/6xzpb7

    Yeah, I wish I could do drawings as payment.

    How funny that would be if it worked? I wonder what other crazy things people have tried to use as payments.
